Introducing: Matt Van Schie

The bass player from Australian 4 piece band Van She has a side project that is well, amazing. Matt Van Schie is all about a time where loving fun was the norm and where dancing wasn’t frowned upon. A couple of days ago he released “Versions”, a remix EP which features all the best in the business; Danimals, Hemingway, Diamond Cut, Memory Tapes, Teenagersintoyko and G.L.O.V.E.S. A few of the tracks are up on his soundcloud available for free download. I hastily jumped Matt’s generosity and downloaded them all. Om nom nom.

Introducing: The Sound Of Arrows

Stefan Storm and Oskar Gullstrand make up the delightful pop duo from Sweden, The Sound Of Arrows. They exploded into the limelight back into 2008 with their debut EP “Danger!”, and followed on with the ever positive and happy “M.A.G.I.C.” and the pop perfection that is “Into The Clouds”.

When I first heard “M.A.G.I.C.”, I remembered having one of those moments where I couldn’t help but smile and bop my head while I scrambled to search for more from them. It was a time where one could drift off to a place where everything was purple and pink, dreamy and happy.

Now myself and their other loyal followers wait eagerly for the release of their debut album, which will hopefully be as titillating and wonderful as their previous productions.

Introducing: Bitcode

Since he released his amazing For Trash – EP, Spanish producer Mario Nieto aka Bitcode has been all over my radar, so when I heard news that there was a new track of his floating around the net, I pounced like a fat man on a buffet. Yet again with “Great Spring”, Bitcode has the whole funky French /disco house thing going on, and that floats my boat…like a fat man on a b…(probably not).

Introducing: No_MooN

Wow. I wasn’t expecting this. Israeli electronica 4 piece band No_MooN deliver the goods with this funky synth laced cover of Chris Isaak‘s “Wicked Game”. Lots of slap bass, duel smooth and screaming vocals and bam: a brilliant cover. No_MooN have got a nice selection of other funky electronica on their myspace that’s worth checking out, and really, it’s a shame that these guys are unsigned because I think they would add some real value the vast population. But hey, ya can’t win em all.

Introducing: Anoraak

French producer Anoraak is back with a track of his debut LP due out August 30th. ‘Above Your Head’ is a dreamy romantic piece of synth pop that you’d expect from Anoraak, full of smooth vocals, wonderful synths and that atmospheric stare-out-the-window vibe.

“Wah ah ah ah ah, just can’t let you go“

This ridiculously catchy synth pop song by Los Angeles based Short Circuit has been on the rounds continuously since I got my hands on it. With a heavy dance beat, vocoder vocals and flaring robotic synthesizers this fun little tune presses all the right buttons and just leaves you wanting more. The NightWaves remix isn’t as catchy as the original, however the 80s-ness dancing times they bring forth still rox hardcore.

Introducing: Jenny Wilson

Swedish songstress Jenny Wilson is due to release her new album Hardships! this coming August. Now If Bjork, Janelle Monae, Mika and Kate Miller-Heidke had some freak jam session then you’d might get something similar to Jenny Wilson. I’ve been quite mesmerised by ’Only Here For The Fight’ (it’s been on repeat), and it’s safe to say that I’m hooked.

Absolute brilliance.

Introducing: Clubfeet

Clubfeet are yet another amazing band from the wonderful city of Melbourne, Australia. They’re due to release their debut album Gold On Gold via NY dance label Plant Music July 27th, just in time for summer.

The trio produce happy danceable pop music, similar to The Teenagers, Hot Chip and Junior Boys so plant this seed firmly on your summer BBQ playlists.

‘Teenage Suicide’ has been around for a couple of years now, but hey it’s still relevant and still great.

Introducing: Grum

Introducing: Sodex

Sodex were a French house duo from Paris, France. The duo consisted of American born Margeaux Lampley and French producer Romuald Jay. They released two amazing tracks ‘Move Me’ and ‘My Melody’ in 2002 and 2003 respectively, then got signed to Universal.

Unfortunately shorty after being signed, they had a fight with their label (or each other) and broke up. These amazing disco / French house tracks are all that remains from what could have been.

Shazam / Gypsy & The Cat

Australia’s very own disco wizard is back again with some more dancing fuel. Shazam has gone and remixed new Australian heroes Gypsy & The Cat, providing yet another disco house dance floor killer. ‘Jona Vark’ is my top most played songs on my iPod, I’m basically in love with the track. I was hoping for a little bit more funk from Shazam however I’m not complaining, its still gets my heart pumping.
