Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on June 29, 2010 by silenceisboring

Russian synth pop group Tesla Boy released their first single off their debut album Modern Thrills yesterday on Mullet Records. It comes with 3 fine remixes as well as the radio edit and is available right now on Juno Download and Beatport. Baxter provides a great cosmic house remix, while Mullet Records label boss Justin Winks a.k.a Casio Social Club goes even further down the synth pop road and MAM brings forth the disco house. A great package all round grab it here or here.

Oh Yes!

We all really do love Marina and her diamonds. We’re all allowed our guilty pleasures. Her next single is fucking amazing, ”Oh No” is definitely the highlight of the album and is a perfect example of good pop music. Legend turn producer, Grum puts his take on it, spices things up with some funk and running bass lines. Great stuff!

Don’t Turn The Lights On

Yet again the very smooth Montreal/New York duo Chromeo bring back the sex with their latest single ”Don’t Turn The Lights On” off their upcoming 3rd LP Business Casual which provides us with some catchy lyrics, funky guitars and 80s styled synth pop – everything we love from Chromeo. Even better it’s mixed by the very amazing Philippe Zdar. Shivers down my spine.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 28, 2010 by silenceisboring

To celebrate the release of their upcoming debut album Star, Hey Champ have brought their disco and electro pop standards to Andy Bell‘s single “Call On Me” and are giving it away for free. It’s classic Hey Champ; slick production, dance worthy beats and cosmic synths all brought together in a nice little disco package for your listening pleasure.

If you dig this, you’ll most likely enjoy their debut album which you can pre-order here for just $5.99. Slash if you do pre-order it you get half the album straight away which is pretty cool.

Introducing: La Zebra

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 28, 2010 by silenceisboring

Los Angeles based La Zebra is one producer who’s efforts could not go unnoticed on this blog. Sampling the sexiness of disco, combining it with boogie of funk and adding his own modern touch, the young La Zebra and his tracks have truly made my day. They are what party music should sound like. They’ll make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, bring and smile to your face and give you the courage to get up and dance the day/ night away.

I’ve got a nice little sample of his work to get you in the dancing mood. Loving every moment of these:

Lifelike – Love Emulator EP

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 27, 2010 by silenceisboring

Last Monday, with much hype leading up to the event, in collaboration with Yota, French house producer-god Lifelike released his Love Emulator EP on his own label Computer Science. The title track is balls – dreamy floating synths overlap Lifelike’s signature running synth sound with the end result being perfect. Silicon Love is definitely my favourite though, again with the dreamy floating synths combined with beautiful vocal work and some filtered down parts thrown in for good measure = Terrificness!

Swoon (Boys Noize SUMMER Remix)

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 26, 2010 by silenceisboring

Woah. The Chemical Brothers new album Further is spectacular, to say the very least, and the remixes popping up following the release are systematically blowing my mind. Have you heard Louis La Roche‘s remix to ”Horse Power”? It’s Epic. Have you heard the Boys Noize ‘Summer’ remix to ”Swoon”? No? Well, download it now. Can see this being played at all the summer festivals to crowds of sweat, love and happiness. If this doesn’t bring a smile to your face, and a shake to your hips then you have no soul.

Look out for Boys Noize’s remix of Scissor Sisters‘ ”Invisibile Light”, out soon.

Introducing: Digikid84

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 26, 2010 by silenceisboring

Digikid84 is filter house / funky electronica / nu disco producer from France who I’ve been meaning to blog about for sometime. Despite looking a bit like one of the dudes from Kid’N Play, Digikid84 has produced many quality remixes that have had dance floors pumping. Following on from his highly successful track B.Boy Underground, he recently dropped his Supernature Love EP on young label Youngunz with exciting results. Here’s my favourite off the EP:

Introducing: Cryptonites

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 25, 2010 by silenceisboring

Swiss ‘electro’ turn nu-wave turn disco house  duo Cryptonites released a double sided single way back in January. The tracks Midas Touch / Midnight Moves were completely missed by me, but to be fair I wasn’t expecting something like this at all from the duo. ‘Midas Touch’ is all about the filtered disco house while Midnight Moves is a little more ‘clubby’, but still good. It’s a nice change, hope they continue to put stuff like this out.

Monarchy: First Live Performance…beamed into Space

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 25, 2010 by silenceisboring

Mystical duo Monarchy, together with live band, recently traveled to Florida to be the first band ever to have their live performance broadcast into space. A fitting first gig for the space age duo.

Michael & Me – Louis La Roche

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 24, 2010 by silenceisboring

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the day that we lost the one of the greatest pop sensations that ever lived, Michael Jackson. French house producer Louis La Roche thought that now would be the perfect time to let loose a previously unreleased track he made called ”Michael & Me” and it’s truly splendid.

Introducing: Yaaman

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 24, 2010 by silenceisboring

Yaaman is a DJ/producer from the Ukraine who down like a clown with everything we love here at Silence Is Boring. French filter house, Synthpop, Italo disco – you name it, he’s done it. He recently sent over some of his own production work with the track below being my favourite (it takes it’s roots from Stardust’s ‘Music Sounds Better With You‘). I’ve been bopping my head in agreement ever since. Check it out.

Jump Jump Dance Dance

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 24, 2010 by silenceisboring

Surely causing some excitement, Australian based electronic-rock act Jump Jump Dance Dance are due to release their next single ”Modern Eyes” tomorrow.  Taken off their debut self titled album, the single includes remixes from dance music heavyweights Lifelike, Beni, Bit Funk, Neon Stereo and Vindata.

I’ve got Bit Funk’s version to give away, it boasts both funky melodies and sexy synths and should definitely be added to the playlist of any summer jam fest.

Introducing: VeemanJanssen

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 22, 2010 by silenceisboring

I’m one of those people who is completely anal when it comes to iTunes. I have a pretty stupid amount of songs, all of which have correct titles, artists, albums and genres associated with each and every track. I will get an album and sit there and name each track before I listen to it. I know it’s a bit weird but, hey that’s me.

So when I received a press release for the new VeemanJanssen EP (they are production duo behind LeLe by the way), and the track had two different names, I was pissed off. “Ok“, I thought “I’ll just do some diggin’ and find out what the correct name is and we can continue with the post“.

How very wrong I was.

Couldn’t find a myspace, facebook or anything for these guys and after having a peak at some other blogs (who just copied and pasted the original press release and called it their own - amateurs), I find out that they have decided to name the track something completely different as well. F.M.L.

In the end I’m going to go with the tag on the actual track and not what the press release called it, have a pathetic little rant and call it a day.

(the track itself is very good and it’s now going on repeat)

Housse De Racket Release 2nd Remix EP

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on June 22, 2010 by silenceisboring

Parisian duo Housse De Racket are releasing yet another remix EP for their catchy hit ”Oh Yeah!” (which came out about 2 years ago in France but never mind that), in the UK next month. Packed with yet another great bunch of names on remix duties, the release hits stores July 4th, to which you should get your pounds and pennies and get your dance on.

Standouts include Hidden Cat‘s transformation and the ridiculously superb remix by fellow Parisians Walter Sobcek who take things to another level entirely.

Keep your eyes peeled for Housse De Racket’s debut album Forty Love out in August.
