Any Which Way (Tensnake Remix)

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on September 30, 2010 by silenceisboring

I whole heartedly love Scissor Sisters. Simple as that. I was so blown away by their recent album Night Work, that I couldn’t speak for days, and it was especially ’Any Which Way’ and ‘Invisible Light’, that really did it for me; both tracks have so much pizazz and attitude that I wasn’t sure if I was even allowed to listen to anything else.

So months done the line what happens I trawl the net and come across a Tensnake remix, and practically drop my computer.

Introducing: Darius

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on September 30, 2010 by silenceisboring

Darius is a Parisian French house producer who dabbles in funk and disco. He was recently featured in Shiny Disco Club‘s free compilation Millenium Disco which prompted me to do some investigating and after getting my hands on some of his tracks and had a listen, I was truly engrossed and only wanted more.

He some older stuff that was a little too intense for me and I wasn’t really keen, but his more recent productions have been much more chilled out and speak to me in so many ways.

Really digging this last one. ‘Constance’, is a spacial synth number that, for the last few minutes, has had my mind wandering off into some sort of void. Typing was difficult.

Introducing: I Never Dance

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on September 30, 2010 by silenceisboring

Starting his production career as an engineer to well known producer Graziano Ravenna is I Never Dance, a 26 year old producer from Bologna. Nothing much else to say about him unfortunately, I don’t think he quite comprehends the whole social networking thang, however this terrible fault is all forgiven for, as his Italo-electro-disco-self-titled-debut-track, ‘I Never Dance’ isn’t all that shabby.

Confusion aside, download:

‘I Never Dance’ is out now on Instant Replay.

Long Beach City Kids or LBCK for short, are an American nu-disco / disco house duo consisting of Alex Noblé and Luigi III. I’ve been listening to their next release ‘Start’, today and I thought it deserved a post.

Actually, not posting it would be blasphemy to everything we believe here at Silence Is Boring. The track makes me wanna dance in every sense of the word.

‘Start’ is being released on On The Fruit Records and comes with a sleuth of remixes from the likes of Fare Soldi, The Phantom’s Revenge, Bit Funk, Moonchild, and la ZEBRA. Tickle your fancy?

Discodeine is a French duo that was created in 2007 by Pilooski and Pentile. Both artists are very respected within the music industry and have been blogged about countless times. Discodeine is all about weird sounding club music, Chicago house, futuristic disco and will most likely have you converted after a single listen. The duo recently released their new single Singular on DIRTY. I suggest you get involved.

The Wombats New Single

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on September 27, 2010 by silenceisboring

After their extremely successful 2007 album A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation, Liverpool indie pop 3 piece The Wombats are back with a brand new single ”Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)”. This new track is a lot more ‘dancey’ and ‘synthy’ than their other songs, and it looks like they are going to go in that direction. No complaints here. Also comes with a brilliant remix by pop remixer legend, Grum.

Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) is out today on 14th floor records.

Next up on the radar is Dominic Pierce, a Disco house producer from Canada, who’s heavily influenced by Daft Punk (suprise!), and is all about filters and analog. I’ve been addicted to his track ‘Blondes’ as of late and can’t seem to get enough. It’s a track that will get you up, get you smiling, and get you dancing like you haven’t danced before. Summer is gone, but not forgotten.

Skull Candy Release new Virtual ‘Dressing Room’ / Check out Stance Socks

Posted in Uncategorized on September 15, 2010 by silenceisboring

Uber-cool Utah based headphone company Skullcandy have gained a massive amount of attention since they began popping up in retailers. The variety of styles and designs appeases most of us, and for someone like me, who goes through 4-5 pairs of headphones a year, the quality and life of the headphones is worth every penny spent. In related news, SkullCandy recently unveiled its virtual ‘dressing room’, which enables potential purchasers to ‘try on’, their future headphones before having to shell out the cash. Definitely a plus if you’re having trouble choosing which headphones are for you.

”We take our music listening very seriously and we testify that great style goes hand in hand with great sound.” – Skull Candy

Check it all out here.

Also, on the topic of accessories, I thought I’d mention another cool brand I’ve been looking into lately. Stance make socks. Simple. As. That. Well, not really..they make amazingly amazing socks. Stylish, artistic and comfortable. Check them out, it’d be worth it.

See here.

Coma Cat New Release

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on September 11, 2010 by silenceisboring

Hamburg based producer Tensnake is seeing another release of his widely popular ‘Coma Cat’, this time with remixes from Treasure Fingers and Round Table Knights. If your not familiar with ‘Coma Cat’, then I highly recommend downloading immediately.

Basically, it is one the most applauded nu-disco / house tracks of our time, complete with soulful vocals, summer lovin’ vibraphones and a whole lotta 80s synths. Bring back to beach!

Introducing: We Were Lovers

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on September 10, 2010 by silenceisboring

We Were Lovers are a pop rock duo from Canada who are starting to create quite a stir with their fresh, energetic tunes. I stumbled upon them a few days ago and immediately fell in love, but it was only till today when I was on the tube did I decide to write a post on them. There is something about them that is so interesting and enticing, but I can’t really put my finger on it. I’ll leave it up to you.

They are currently touring the US and having recently finished recording their debut album in New York, we can only expect to hear a lot more from the ex-lovers.

Introducing: Lo-Fi-Fnk

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on September 9, 2010 by silenceisboring

After my ears were blessed with Lo-Fi-Fnk‘s track ”Marchin’ In”, call me dumbstruck…in a combined state of shock and love. It was one of those tracks that you have to play on repeat, again and again, just to continue being so happy.

Their debut album Boylife was enjoyable, tracks like ’Wake Up” and ”Stepping Out” always had me dancing along and the same with more recent ’Want U”, but it wasn’t until I heard ”Marchin’ In”, that I completely devoted myself to them, and like a hawk, have been following Lo-Fi-Fnk ever since, hoping for some repeat of brilliance.

September, 2010 sees the return of the Swedish synth pop duo (hurray), they’re due to release their next single, ”Sleepless” along with b-side ”Layin Lo’,' out on Moshi Moshi Records on the 20th. How very excellent!
