Amazingness: Monarchy

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 13, 2011 by silenceisboring

UK synth pop duo Monarchy today unveiled their highly anticipated video for upcoming single ”I Won’t Let Go”. Director Roy Raz has really made something disturbingly special here. It’s absolutely stunning!

The single is being released on Moda Music, and features vocals by Rokhsan and will most likely be your sound track for the summer.

I know you will, but, as always, enjoy.

Catch Monarchy performing at Coachella this weekend along with a secret performance in L.A on Thursday.

”I Won’t Let Go” is out on Moda Music April 25th.

EXCITEMENT!

Moby x Lifelike

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on April 12, 2011 by silenceisboring

The new Moby single ”The Day” has had the remix treatment by everybody’s favourite French house producer Lifelike. Lawrence takes the track, adds his traditional pulsing synths and syncopated hi-hats and transforms it in a way that only he can.

Love here.

Introducing: Alexander Dexter-Jones

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 12, 2011 by silenceisboring

Not much is widely known about the New York producer Alexander Dexter-Jones. At his first performance, he was likened by the audience to an early David Bowie.

Being the son of the founding member of American rock band Foreigner, Alexander has obviously lived a life filled with music, and this sheer knowledge and experience is clearly reflected in his incredible track ”Phantastic Phone Call”.

The track itself is a beautiful, glitchy atmospheric ballad and along with his incredible voice, that can only be likened to Robert Smith, it’ll have you grasping for your imaginative mojito while you lie on some imaginative beach.

Delicious.

Look out for ”Phantastic Phone Call” on the upcoming Kitsune Compilation The Indie Dance Issue. In the meantime, download in full quality at his bandcamp.

Love this, really.

Embody

Most of you are already familiar with the new single ”Embody” by SebastiAn. Released April 4th, the single received widespread praise and proved to be a promising insight into what the debut album will sound like.

Even though the Kavinsky remix was everywhere, I only heard this remix by 45 year old American producer DJ Premier today, and I was immediately floored. Brilliant.

Starsmith & Alan Braxe

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on April 11, 2011 by silenceisboring

”Lesson One” is probably my most sought after track at the moment. Legendary French touch producer Alan Braxe teams up with Starsmith and the result is the audio equivalent to Summer.

At the moment all we have is a teaser:

Enjoy.

Lightwaves x Strange Talk

One of our favourite new finds of 2010 Strange Talk are set to release their debut self titled EP tomorrow on Neon Gold. If you thought the response the band got from ”Climbing Walls” was huge, then hold onto your seats while you listen to the new and improved lead single ”Eskimo Boy”.

Find below a very Neon Gold sounding remix of said track from Lightwaves.

The Sound Of Arrows – New Single

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 7, 2011 by silenceisboring

You might remember The Sound Of Arrows from their brilliant pop tracks ”M.A.G.I.C” and ”Into The Clouds”. Indeed, the Swedish synth pop duo had me dancing and singing all the way through 2009.

The Sound Of Arrows are now back with their first official single ”Nova”, taken from their debut album which is seeing it’s release later this month. ”Nova” is similar to the above mentioned tracks, just without the charisma and heart that made them so amazing. It’s not really all that unique, and seems to follow the route most electronic pop take these days.

A little disappointed, but I’m not going to give up on them yet. Still excited about the album, and the visuals in the video are spectacular!

Sander Kleinenberg x Shazam

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on April 6, 2011 by silenceisboring

Well, I never thought I’d see this. Nu-disco champ Shazam remixing prog house producer Sander Kleinenberg and his new single ”The Healer”? Great thing is, it works. Really well.

He has transformed this bass heavy house track to a laid back, summery disco masterpiece. Think sunshine, BBQ’s and everything in between.

Fred Falke gets The Look

After an understandable but still disappointing remix of Ke$ha, Fred Falke is back in French-touch-Falke-disco form with a remix of Metronomy‘s new single ”The Look”.

Look out for the Moonlight Matters remix coming soon!

Flight Facilities x Holy Ghost!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on April 5, 2011 by silenceisboring

One of our favourite nu-disco duos Flight Facilities will have their remix of the new Holy Ghost! single ”Wait And See” featured on said band’s album as a bonus track. The remix is available on iTunes USA, but we’ll have to wait until April 11th when the album sees it’s release on DFA records.

As expected, it’s brilliant!

Enjoy.

Introducing: Kids At Midnight

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 5, 2011 by silenceisboring

Kids At Midnight are a synth-pop band from Melbourne, Australia who have recently signed to Alan Braxe‘s Vulture Label. Their debut single ‘The Chase’ is a funky, catchy pop tune that I have become increasingly fond of.

The track, is available April 11th. Also look out for their EP out soon on Vulture.

Introducing: Zimmer

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 5, 2011 by silenceisboring

I had a email from the crew over at Discotexas, introducing their new signing, a Paris-based nu-disco producer named Zimmer. Upon first listen of his track ”Crusin”’, I was intrigued, and had to listen to it again….and again…..and again.

The track starts of relatively slow with a deep drum beat and various atmospheric synths, and then kicks off around the minute mark with some summer sounding symbols, snares and synths. Delicious, no?

I hope we can hear more from this talented guy.
