Introducing: Chad Valley

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 28, 2011 by silenceisboring

Chad Valley is the moniker of Hugo Manuel who’s music could be described as exotic-synthwave. It’s very delicious. The Oxford based producer stepped into the limelight last year with his debut self titled EP featuring the summer jam ”Up and Down” which then exploded the artist into widespread popularity.

He returns in 2011 with yet another brilliant EP titled Equatorial Ultravox. It starts with the track ”Now That I’m Real” which is beginning to prove to be one of my absolute favourite tracks of 2011.

Gigamesh doesn’t really needs introducing. This is only because you should already know all about him. One half of legendary remix team Discotech, and one half of Senor Stereo, this man knows his production. With a sleuth of brilliant Gigamesh remixes available, it was difficult to pick one, so I had to pick many.

Sexy Brazilian rock band CSS are back again with their brand new single ”Hits Me Like A Rock” which features vocals by Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream and is taken off their upcoming album La Liberación.

Apparently the track is all about the feeling you get when you here a song you like. Like hearing a classic you haven’t heard for a long time that perks you up and takes you over. Serious pop tune.

The track ”Keep The Funk Alive” is the focus and comes with some brilliant remixes from Cityzen (also known as The Aikiu) and In Flagranti.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on June 20, 2011 by silenceisboring

Shindu are an electro pop trio from Belgium who are due to release their brand new spectacular single ”Happy House” on the ever trendy Kitsuné label. Produced by Moonlight Matters, the track is actually a cover of 80s classic “Happy House” by Siouxsie and the Banshees, and is probably one of the catchiest tracks of Summer 2011. The lyrics ”fun, fun, fun” couldn’t be more perfectly suited.

You can’t help but play it over and over again, because every listen just keeps getting better and better.

Introducing: VIVIEN

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on June 12, 2011 by silenceisboring

I would like to introduce you to VIVIEN, a brand new 23 year old London-based multi-instrumentalist.

VIVIEN’s music is almost entirely influenced by The Avalanches, J-Dilla and The Beach Boys, blending samples and live instrumentation with acapellas and and environmental sound effects to create soaring & bittersweet musical collages.

The carefree feelings of youth will be evoked – and the heartbreak of adulthood re-hashed.

VIVIEN - Walk On By

VIVIEN - Heartbeat

VIVIEN - Electricity

A fresh take on Monarchy‘s “The Phoenix Alive” has already stirred up some steam, which available below.

Introducing: Computer Magic

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 12, 2011 by silenceisboring

Computer Magic is the solo pop project of 22-year-old New York based Danielle (Danz). She started doing Computer Magic is early 2010, and has already been tipped as one of 2011′s bands to watch. It’s basically just bedroom electronic pop, but with an unusual dizzy ethereal feel mastered with such a warming charm.

She has already released three EP’s and has released a fourth containing re-recordings of the cream of the crop from the first two.

Surprisingly unsigned, but most likely for not long, expect to hear big things about her.

Slice & Soda is a collaboration between French producer Para One and disco singer San Serac. 4 years after they met in 2007 the pair have completed their debut album which they are looking to to release later this year on the epic but retiring label Institubes.

Last month they released their debut EP Year of the Dragon, featuring the tracks ”Year of the Dragon” & ”Gasoline Fire” as well as remixes of said title track.

Both tracks are excellent, however ”Gasoline Fire” is slightly more delicious.

Introducing: Citizen

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on June 10, 2011 by silenceisboring

Citizen is an anonymous producer from London who is already making waves throughout the blogging world with his handful of productions. His remixes of  big name artists Adele and Beyoncé are different to the myriad of trash remixes floating around. They actually have character; soul.

Download: Rolling In The Deep (Citizen Remix) – Adele (Right Click, Save As)

Download: Girls Who Run The World (Citizen Remix) – Beyoncé (Right Click, Save As)

His productions are special in their own right and there seems to be hidden agenda beneath the entire project, something Citizen isn’t sharing with us, something that is going to blow our minds.

PNAU – Solid Ground

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on June 10, 2011 by silenceisboring

PNAU‘s upcoming album Soft Universe is probably one of the most anticipated albums of 2011 for the SIB office. I still regularly revisit songs like ”Embrace”, ”Need Your Lovin’ Baby” and the crowd pleasing ”No More Violence”, and each time I do, I end up on my feet dancing and recollecting times of Summer of previous years.

After ”The Truth” summoned a storm of excitement throughout the internet, it seems the PNAU team had no hesitation to unleash the second single ”Solid Ground”.

Download: Solid Ground (Radio Edit) – PNAU (Right Click, Save As)(Removed as requested)

Solid Ground is full of energy; synthersizers, guitars, background ”woahs” fill the track while the chorus begs to be shouted by punters in the thousands.

Now all we can do is wait.

Introducing: Florrie

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 9, 2011 by silenceisboring

The Bristol pop singer Florrie is hard to fault. She’s stayed away from the major labels to work independently and unhinged. She creates  wondrous sparkling pop music that’s ridiculously catchy, has collaborated with the likes of Fred Falke and releases her music for free. Done deal in my book.

She is celebrating the release of her upcoming EP Experiments by way of teaser track ”Experimenting With Rugs”. Built on a piano riff, and furnished with tasty hooks, this is pop magic cast effortlessly.

Introducing: Goldroom

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 9, 2011 by silenceisboring

Goldroom is the solo project of Nightwaves‘ Josh Legg. Incorporating the influences of Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, Legg uses these and channels them with his own Californian touch creating glistening summertime synth pop that will have you racing for the poolside.

Check out his other stuff here.

Love it here.

Introducing: Ronika

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 9, 2011 by silenceisboring

Ronika is a producer and singer from Nottingham who creates 80s’ inspired electronic pop music that sounds like a combination of Moonlight Matters and Madonna. She is being hailed as ”the next big thing”, and if you consider her Stuart Price sounding production techniques and brilliant vocal flair in ”Forget Yourself”, it’s difficult to disagree.

Download: Forget Yourself – Ronika (Right Click, Save As)

Her debut EP Wiyoo is out June 14 from Recordshop Records.

Enjoy.
