Luke Foskey is a producer and DJ from Brisbane, Australia who goes under the moniker of Youth or Young Edits. I stumbled upon his edit of ”Cloudbusting” by Kate Bush the other day and much to the grief of my friends literally had it on repeat for about 2 days.
After the initial shock, I investigated further and was introduced to his wondrous world of edits.

Fabian‘s new French funk single ”Last Flight” is out very soon, and the remix package is very impressive. The Nightwaves remix is actual sex, while the original is pretty damn good also. Check it out below:
Australian dance duo Bag Raiders are giving away a free remix by Eli Escobar of their next single “Not Over”. The single is due to be released in August via Modular and also comes with remixes from Tony Senghore, Classixx and Softwar.
It’s hard to not fall in love with Kimbra upon hearing or very well seeing her. She is beautiful and so is her music. Her songs all have strong hooks, catchy melodies and are laced with quirky jazz chords. New Zealand born, she won the hearts of many with ”Simply on My Lips”, and was picked up by the Forum 5 label in Melbourne and relocated to Australia.
Since then she has won more hearts with ”Settle Down”, and even more with her latest single ”Cameo Lover” off her upcoming album Vows which is due out in September. ”Cameo Lover”, is probably one of the most interesting, catchy, and surprising new songs I’ve heard in a while. Kimbra has woven an unconventional and intricate web of music styles all up in one song, and will have you second guessing all the way until the end when everything just fits into place and your smitten.
Plastic Plates is originally from Sydney, Australia but is now rocking his nu-disco tunes Los Angeles. His remixes are creating quite a stir all throughout the internet due to their accessibility and creativity.
Shamefully, I was only first introduced to him when I heard his remix of Adele‘s ”Set Fire to the Rain” which I’ve played a tremendous amount.
Rewards is the moniker of Aaron Pfenning of Chairlift. He has released a brilliant single called ”Equal Dreams” which features vocals from the abundantly incredible Solange Knowles. The blende of vocals, layered bass, synths and drum machines is divine.
Australia. 2011 seems to be seeing you well. Scenic is yet another great band to come out of the wonderfully sunny country. Their tremendously amazing single ”Another Sky” is sophisticated, and very much beautiful. It makes me want to lie in a field and stare at the clouds, contemplating things that make me happy.

The mysterious New York duo That Work have unleashed a funky soulful track called ”Secret Lover” upon the digital world. Try not singing along with the chorus – it’s quite difficult.
Not much else is known about the band, I’ve only seen a few sites post the track and the consensus is the same: Amazing.
Everybody’s favourite Belgian nu-disco duo Mustang have just released their new single ”Shooting Love”. 80′s synths, funky guitars flourish throughout giving us that fun disco vibe. The single also comes with a ”Fat Club” mix, which in my opinion is where it’s all at – sounding like something we’d get from Peter & The Magician.
”Ode To the Bouncer” is probably my favourite song so far of 2011.
With that statement, I’d like to introduce you to Studio Killers; a mysterious pop group from the UK, Finland and Denmark.
The members of Studio Killers work virtually, transferring ideas and sounds over email and adding what they can. In a very similar situation to Gorillaz, they are hiding their identity, and instead choosing cartoon personas known as Cherry (vocals), Goldie Foxx (keytar) and Dyna Mink (Producer).
Who are they?
I’m not telling.
One of them has a Grammy award though.
I got acquainted to their track ”Ode To The Bouncer” late on Saturday afternoon. It was my pre-party anthem. After getting home from the night out I couldn’t help but listen to it again. Then came Sunday morning when I woke up and thought ”yeah might listen to that bouncer song again”, and so forth began my addiction. I have not stopped listening to it since. It’s on repeat. Right now? Yep.
”Ode To The Bouncer” is one of those songs that from the very beginning has you hooked. You can’t help but sing the insanely massive chorus ”Ooh, let me in or I’ll get physical with you, I just gotta dance right now, it’s critical to do”. By the time your half way through the first verse you are already inspired with attitude, and careful, you may want to snap your fingers and pout. That would be embarrassing. The amazingness continues with some delicious 80′s synths that follow the Pink Floyd inspired line ”another prick at the door”.
The video rivals the Gorillaz, is the best way to first hear the song and is basically pure sex.
I would be highly surprised if the song isn’t everywhere very soon. It’s just so damn good. Wanna be ahead of the trend?
As the old Bob Dylan song goes, “The times, they are a changing”, and we at Silence Is Boring want to bring love and happiness back to world’s dance floors, house parties, and everyday eardrums.
